Meet Armadillidium vulgare, commonly called pill bugs or roly-polies. This pack contains 20 live, farm-raised isopods. We raise and use this species in our own lab, and it can support hands-on observation in biology classrooms, independent study, and suitable bioactive enclosures.
Possible investigations include observing shelter use and moisture preference, comparing activity in a choice chamber with different light levels and a shaded refuge, or tracking population changes over time. Keep conditions appropriate for the species and provide cover; isopods naturally shelter under leaves, bark, and substrate.
Pack contents: 20 live A. vulgare. Habitat, substrate, food, and accessories are sold separately unless included in a kit listing. These isopods are also kept as cleanup crew or used as feeders when appropriate.
