A 1,000-count pack belongs in a prepared, managed worm-bin setup. Plan bedding, ventilation, food, and temperature ahead of delivery. The count does not guarantee a particular pound weight.
Prepare the worm bin
Red wigglers (Eisenia fetida) live near the surface of moist organic bedding. Give the bin airflow, bedding that feels like a wrung-out sponge, and modest amounts of suitable food scraps. Add food as the worms and microorganisms process what is already there. See Oregon State University Extension’s worm-bin guide for setup and maintenance.
Count and delivery
This pack is sold by worm count, not by weight. Individual sizes vary; eggs, cocoons, extra worms, reproduction rates, and composting speed are not promised. Browse current worm options, read our live-animal shipping policy, or contact us about a planned order.
